About This Course
In the UK, falls from height are the leading cause of fatality at work. By taking simple precautions, many of these fatalities could be avoided.
Our Working at Height: Ladder and Stepladder training course raises awareness of the dangers associated with using ladders and stepladders at work.
This course can be delivered as part of a bundle with our Manual Handling Awareness training course and/or our CoSHH training course.
Course Aims
On completion, delegates should be able to:
- Understand the risks of working at height activities
- Understand the legal requirements that underpin working at height
- Understand the risk assessment process
- Know how to use a ladder safely
Course Content
The course is divided in to 5 modules:
- Legislation and statistics
- Hazards and risk: Hazards, assessing risk, control measures,
- Before you start: Pre-use checks, types of ladder, choosing the correct ladder,
- Using a ladder safely: Positioning and tethering a ladder
- Summary of good practice
